BRET MICHAELS Donates To Arizona Therapeutic Horse RanchJanuary 10, 2013 / 288 reads / No comments yet
According to MyFoxPhoenix.com, Bret Michaels donated the proceeds from his December 2012 charity concert to the Camelot Therapeutic Horse Ranch through his Life Rocks Foundation.
Michaels first became involved with the organization in May 2011 after watching a feature about the horse ranch on KSAZ-TV, the Fox affiliate in Phoenix. Camelot provides private lessons with children, to help them learn the basics of caring for and riding horses.
The rocker, along with his two daughters Raine and Jorja, began sponsoring a horse named Barbara. They have since become regular visitors to the ranch, grooming and feeding the horse.
In December 2012, Michaels had a concert at Celebrity Theatre benefiting charities like Camelot. He says recovering from his own medical challenges makes it easy to relate.
"Relearning to use your arms, your legs, walk ? a brain bleed is horrendous and after that the heart surgery and all this other crazy stuff. What I hope with students, that they learn out here..is just being out here in the outdoors and being around horses," said Michaels.
"To be able to be out here is therapeutic for them as much mentally as it is physically."
On January 9, Bret presented a check to the Camelot Therapeutic Horse Ranch.
